Call for contributions toward a potential new work item, BioAPI Lite

As a result of the SC37 WG2 and SC 37 Plenary meeting in Seoul, the SC37 Secretariat has issued the subject document, N703 to National Bodies for possible NP contributions.

 
As per SC 37 Seoul resolution 2.3, National Bodies are requested to submit contributions regarding the possibility of initiating a NP tentatively known as "BioAPI Lite". Such a project would conceptually encompass a low-overhead, streamlined version of BioAPI for use in embedded devices/applications (e.g., a PDA with a single biometric device accessed by multiple applications). Contributions received by 1 October 2004 will be considered at the November 2004 WG 2 meeting in Paris.

Contributions received will be discussed at the August meeting of M1.2.  The approved US NB contribution will be forwarded to the SC 37 Secretariat by the international deadline of 1 October 2004.

This call is being issued to the members of M1 for submission of contributions in response to the above SC37 document (N703). 

Comments must be submitted by 2 August 2004 to the M1.2 Chair, Fred Herr (mailto:  fherr@idtp.com).
