Call for Review and Comment on SC 37 N1210, Text of 3rd CD 24713-2, Biometric Profiles for Interoperability and Data Interchange – Part 2: Physical Access Control for Employees at Airports

Document Status:


As per SC 37 South Africa Resolution 4.2, this document is circulated to SC 37 National Bodies for

3rd CD ballot.


Recipients of this document are invited to submit notification of any relevant patent rights of which they are aware and to provide supporting documentation.


When reviewing the 3rd Committee Draft, National Bodies are requested to submit contributions on the unanswered questions from the 2nd CD ballot, in particular:


1. Based on the revised scope of 24713-2, National Bodies are requested to contact relevant authorities to validate the requirements as set out in the current CD. Relevant authorities may include border control authorities, airport organizations, employers of airport personnel, etc., as well as system integrators.


2. National Bodies should consider the five stage process outlined in the report of the 24713-3 Rapporteur Group (doc number N1121), considering the scope in the CD-3 of 24713-2 as:
Item 1 – Description; the requirements provided by relevant authorities as
Item 2 – Requirements: and considering comments and contributions against CD-3 as items 3-5.


3. National Bodies are requested to submit text for an additional section 6.4 to 24713-2 defining the
standards for logging and monitoring (for example, user identifiers shall be logged along with levels of
confidence achieved during authentication, and similar statements regarding enrolment


Comments received will be discussed at the October 2005 meeting of M1. 4.  The approved US NB ballot response will be posted by the international deadline.

When reviewing the 3rdCD, M1 members are requested to submit contributions on the topics listed above.
When doing so, M1 members are asked to provide complete text.
