Subject: INCITS-V36/08-0054: V36 recommends the US National Body approve, with comments,  LETSI request to establish a Category A Liaison relationship with JTC1/SC36.

 

Ballot Closes Wednesday, October  22, 2008, noon Central Time. 

 

A vote was taken by V36 on May 26, 2008. V36 failed to reach a consensus and when the vote was taken at the Stuttgart Plenary, the US position was to abstain.  The vote tally at the Plenary was 10 agree and 4 abstain.  On October 28, 2008 the INCITS Executive Board will provide recommendations to the JTC1 on this issue.  Because the V36 didn’t reach a consensus (2/3 majority) another vote must be taken.

 

Statement:  V36 recommends USNB approval, with comments, of the LETSI request to establish a Category A Liaison relationship with JTC1/SC36 with comments.
