INCITS Welcomes David Bain as New Executive Vice President

WASHINGTON – Today, INCITS, a leading U.S. standards organization dedicated to developing information technology standards, announced that David Bain will join the organization as its Executive Vice President. Bain joins INCITS, a division of ITI, from the Tech Integrity Council, where he served as Executive Director. In his new role, Bain will oversee INCITS’ overall strategy, work with INCITS participants to help create consensus-driven, market-relevant standards, and drive growth across the organization.

“As the United States’ premier ANSI-accredited information technology standards body, INCITS plays a crucial role in advancing global innovation,” said ITI President and CEO Jason Oxman. “David’s deep and extensive work experience will bolster INCITS’ critical work developing voluntary industry consensus standards at a consequential time for our sector, especially as policymakers demand more industry self-governance. We are thrilled to grow the INCITS team and leverage David’s expertise to enhance INCITS’ internationally-accredited standards committees work for its current and new members, and the broader standards community.”

“Standards are at the center of the innovations that transform our lives,” said Bain. “I am excited to lead the INCITS team and build its membership and expertise in important domains like quantum computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, distributed and cloud computing, and sustainable data centers. Together, we have an important opportunity to develop and promote consensus-driven U.S. and global technology standards that convey the imprimatur and trust of ANSI, ISO, and IEC.”

Before joining ITI, Bain was Executive Director of the Tech Integrity Council, a Washington, DC consortium for ethical standards in technology and Vice President of Standards for the Telecommunications Industry Association. Prior to those roles, he spent 25 years as a technology innovator, entrepreneur, and publisher.
